| Taylor Buttes Bucking Bulls is owned by Ty Maier and is located near Carter, SD, in the south-central part of the state. Ty feels strongly that South Dakota's rugged terrain and extreme weather is especially inportant in producing bucking cattle that are structurally sound with unmatched longevity. Ty is currently a junior at South Dakota State University, and is pursuing a range science degree. Ty loves ranch life, hunting coyotes, hanging out with friends, and most importantly, talking bulls. Taylor Buttes Bucking Bulls was started in 2004 when Ty bought a set of five heifers off the Shippy Ranch. Later in 2004, three additional heifers were purchased from Harvey Bierema. Thus, creating a foundation for his breeding program. Ty intents were to strengthen his bucking bull breeding program through the implementation of AI and ET work, and has done so over the past few years. Taylor Buttes has consistently bettered their bloodlines and also exercises strict culling of stock that are not up to snuff. The 2008 calf crop will be near 15 head, and each animal is registered with the ABBI. Ty is very excited about the bucking bull industry and what the future will bring.
